The Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro proved one thing: people go crazy for new colored phones. If bar-style phones are all iterative from here on out, brands should at least make them fun to look at again. That may be Google’s plan for what might otherwise be a snoozy Pixel 11 series launch next month.
The Pixel 11 phones—expected to consist of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold—are all but guaranteed to launch at Google’s next “Made by Google” event on Aug. 12. Like every year, the devices have already been leaking out weekly. With the exception of a few tweaks here and there, a speedier Tensor G6 chip for new Gemini features, and probably a few improvements to the camera, they look to share the same identity introduced on the Pixel 9 phones.
That leaves colors. Yes, I said colors as a major selling point for Google’s flagship Android phones. Leaked images, shared early on Amazon (via DroidLife), show off the Pixel 11 phones in some unusual colors.

The Pixel 11 will reportedly come in three fun colors, like light purple, “pistachio” green, and vibrant “hibiscus” fuchsia, in addition to the usual “obsidian” black. The Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL may come in an “olive” green, “dune” orange/coral, “fog” gray, and obsidian black. And the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to come in only two colors: a pine green and a midnight black.
The “dune” orange/coral is the one that jumps out to me personally. I have a soft spot for coral-colored phones dating back to the coral iPhone 5C and the iPhone XR, so it’ll be a nice return to what I consider a more groovy era of phones.
Sure, most people will slap a case on their phone, negating any point of choosing a color phone, but it’s at least nice to have options other than black and white.
Not so great for the Pixel 11 series is—you probably guessed it—price hikes. The latest leak suggests the Pixel 11 might start at $899 for 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM and $1,019 for 512GB of storage. The Pixel 11 Pro could start at $1,099 for 256GB, $1,219 for 512GB, and $1,449 for 1TB. The 11 Pro XL—because of its larger screen and bigger battery—would naturally cost even more, starting at $1,299 for 256GB, $1,419 for 512GB, and $1,649 for 1TB. As for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, it’ll reportedly cost $1,899 for 256GB, $2,019 for 512GB, and eye-watering $2,249 for 1TB.
Take everything with a grain of salt for now. All will become official in a few weeks when Google makes specs and pricing official.
