The Director of ‘Sharknado’ Will Next Bring Sharks to an Even Funnier Place

One of the reasons Steven Spielberg’s Jaws became famous was the belief that it made people afraid to go into the ocean. But bodies of water that aren’t the ocean? Those were safe. That was, until director Anthony C. Ferrante posed the question, “What would it look like if sharks were in a tornado?” Then, all bets were off.

Now, after six Sharknado movies, Ferrante is back with an even funnier concept. It’s called Water Park Shark, and it tells the tale of mutated sharks that invade a water park. Water slides, wave pools, you name it. You thought you were safe on that inflatable tube, but what if a shark were coming? Here’s the funny trailer.

The thing that’s almost most hilarious about this trailer isn’t the absurd premise. Because, let’s face it. Sharks in a water park are much more believable than sharks in tornadoes. No, the funniest thing is that it even tries to wrap a story around it. The story of a failed quarterback who goes back to his hometown and is forced to become a lifeguard. What the hell is that?

And yet? Yes. Sure. Why not? We’ll watch whatever story you want to put in front of us if it means we get to see sharks swimming up water slides and eating people in wave pools.

Plus, the film is going to be here for the Fourth of July weekend. Water Park Shark will be available on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home starting July 3. Are you going to check it out?
