If you’ve got Netflix, enjoy Scavengers Reign while you can, because it might not be there at month’s end.

According to Polygon and What’s On Netflix, the animated sci-fi series is due to leave the streamer on May 31. As of today, it’ll have been on Netflix for two years, a move the creators and fans hoped would lead to a second season. Global engagement data tallied up by WoN reveals the show has amassed 8.2 million viewing hours between 2024 and 2025, with the bulk of that coming from its first year on the platform. Its total views, added up between the two years, come out to 1.7 million views, with 1.1 million of that again from its inaugural year.

Whether or not it actually is leaving at the end of May, you should definitely check out Scavengers Reign. Initially released in 2023 for HBO Max and Adult Swim, the show centers on the crew of a downed spaceship scattered across the planet Vesta. Some try to look for a way back home, others…don’t, with all of them having one harrowing experience after another thanks to the local fauna and other beings on the planet. We were fans of it back when it first premiered thanks to its animation and writing, and we’re still sad that we won’t get to see its story continue.

io9 reached out to confirm if the show’s leaving Netflix, and if that’s the case, that leaves HBO Max—which originally canceled it—the sole legal place to watch it. At time of writing, there’s no official Blu-Ray release, and no word on whether that will change. Go on and watch it while you can, and while you’re at it, watch Common Side Effects from the same team.
