Man of Tomorrow is a “step up” for James Gunn’s DCU, according to Jennifer Holland. Three new horror films tackle tennis, Texas, and Greek mythology. Building begins on the tower from Tangled. Darren Criss debuts as Superboy in My Adventures With Superman. There will be peace when the people of the world want it so badly that their governments will have no choice but to give it to them. For now, it’s Morning Spoilers!

Do Not Open

Deadline reports Freddy Carter, Lulu Wilson, Mark McKenna, Stelio Savante, Jeremy Gauna, Jada Jay, Diletta Guglielmi, and John Ford Coley are attached to star in Do Not Open, a “sci-fi horror film” now filming in Texas. Directed by Kristian McKay, the “contained supernatural thriller” is said to be inspired by films like Christine and Videodrome and is set “inside a remote Texas storage facility—a place of forgotten story, abandoned memories, locked metal doors, and lives people tried to leave behind.”

Chronos

Deadline also reports Anirudh Pisharody and Tongayi Chirisa will star in Chronos, an “indie thriller” based on Greek Mythology from director Gianinni Semedo Moreira. The story follows “a father who, when his family disappears on a Greek beach, is lured by an ancient device to a hidden island trail. Partnered with a fallen god of time and hunted by the goddess of fate, he must reach Olympus before the gods erase the people he loves.”

Killa

Deadline additionally reports Imani Lewis and Tanya Wright will star in Killa, a new entry in the “sports-horror” genre from debut filmmaker, Laci Dent. The story concerns Asa Jones, “a girl from Louisiana who wants to conquer the world of girls’ basketball. When Asa sees her shot at a college scholarship slipping away, she begins to lose herself to a captivating force.”

Man of Tomorrow

In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Jennifer Holland stated she’s seen “an enormous portion” of Man of Tomorrow, and believes it to be James Gunns’ best movie to date.

I can tell you that I have seen an enormous, enormous portion of the movie, and I am so excited for Man of Tomorrow. It is different…I don’t wanna say this. It might be James’s best… my favorite movie of James, and I haven’t even seen the whole thing yet. I’m just…I love the movie. I’m really excited about it. It feels like a step up to me in a lot of ways. I’m excited for people to see it, and he’s not done filming it yet.

Tangled

In preparation for Disney’s live-action Tangled, construction has begun on Rapunzel’s tower at Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain.

Heist Brothers

According to Deadline, Adult Swim has picked up Genndy Tartakovsky’s Heist Brothers for a series. Originally titled Heist Safari, the official logline merely states the “high-octane animated action comedy” concerns “three frog brothers who rob a bank. Seems simple enough, but the execution is special as !#&$??!!!!”

Pluribus

During her recent appearance on Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum (via Screen Rant), Rhea Seehorn revealed Vince Gilligan “feels rushed” writing the second season of Pluribus, and wishes he could “go back to square one.”

He said this publicly at South by Southwest or somewhere where I was with him that they went back to the writers’ room with all these thoughts. They were thinking like, ‘I think this [will happen] and then that. And then this will wrap up this way.’ And then they got there and started doing what they call ‘kicking the tires’ on all of it, and they basically just wanted to go back to square one. But I mean I think that’s why these shows are so rewarding. He would even say he wishes he could get it back on sooner.

He does feel rushed. This is him working his ass off.

My Adventures With Superman

Superboy (Glee‘s Darren Criss) crashes Clark and Lois’s date at the Pound Cake Palace in a clip from “Guess Who’s Slammin’ to Dinner?”—this week’s new episode of My Adventures With Superman.

Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes

Finally, Cartoon Network has released a trailer for Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes, a “three-episode movie event” premiering this July 11.
