It’s going to be a bit of a wait for season three of Netflix’s live-action One Piece series. But in the meantime, the bricks have you covered. Lego One Piece, a two-part special exploring the events of seasons one and two, is coming soon—and Netflix has just released a high-energy first teaser.
You can kind of tell from the teaser, but the premise of Lego One Piece is that “Usopp, the Straw Hats’ most reliably unreliable narrator, regales the newest and cutest recruit, the reindeer-boy hybrid Tony Tony Chopper, with the group’s epic exploits across the East Blue and into the legendary Grand Line,” according to a post on Netflix’s Tudum blog.
The Straw Hat crew from the live-action series provides the voices for their characters, including Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper.
One Piece showrunner, writer, and executive producer Tom Hyndman was excited to retell the tale of One Piece from Usopp’s point of view. “We wanted to make something that would ease new viewers into the massive world of One Piece while also giving longtime fans a new, fun perspective to see the iconic stories of the first two seasons,” he told Tudum.
Hyndman added that the One Piece cast was also excited for this side project. “It allowed us to really go wild during the records because we didn’t have to take extra time to have them find the character—they are the character. This freedom led to some extremely fun and funny improvised moments that really added to the episodes.”
The two-part Lego One Piece special arrives September 29 on Netflix.
