Movie props that come up for auction tend to fall into two categories: solemn icons of cinema history (including, but not limited to, that screen-used Darth Vader lightsaber that went for nearly $4 million last year) and slightly goofier bits of ephemera for diehard fans of a certain movie or TV show to display, in a sort of “if you know, you know” way. The latter classification applies to this wonderfully weird treasure from Tim Burton‘s 1988 Beetlejuice, a tempting prize for any collector of the “strange and unusual” who also likes to host dinner parties.

Behold, the “shrimp hand” of your dreams! Propstore, which is auctioning off the piece as part of an upcoming memorabilia sale, doesn’t specify if this is the hand that emerged from a bowl of shrimp cocktail and grasped the face of Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz. But you can pretend it is if you win it for your very own. It’s estimated to go for $1,200-$2,400, a bargain considering its value as an eternal conversation piece.

“One of cinema’s most beloved comedic horror sequences, the scene remains among the most quoted moments from a film that has only grown in cultural stature since its release nearly four decades ago,” reads a Propstore press release.

It’s true: we can barely remember anything that happened in 2024’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but that “Day-O” group possession dance party from the original film is burned into our memories forever.

The shrimp hand is just one of “over 700 pieces of Hollywood memorabilia” Propstore will be selling off via Planet Hollywood, the show biz-themed restaurant chain that amassed a large collection to display in its locations.

Other items in the auction include Christopher Reeve’s Superman III suit, estimated to go for $20,000-$40,000 despite being a reminder of that era’s worst Superman movie, and the Bat-Cuffs wielded by Val Kilmer’s Batman in 1995’s Batman Forever ($3,000-$6,000).

You can check out the full catalog and learn how to bid (the auction runs through July 2) at Propstore’s website.
