Web-heads, rejoice. After what felt like way too long, we finally have a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And it was worth the wait.
Set years after the cataclysmic events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) now lives in a world where no one knows he’s Spider-Man. In fact, no one knows who he is at all. That’s tough considering MJ (Zendaya), the woman he loves, is now with another man, and she’s still friends with his former best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon). All of which is before we even deal with the fact he’s having issues with his powers and a new crop of villains are ready to rip his head off. At least the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) are around this time. Here’s the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
It’s a great trailer, to be sure, but it still leaves us with a lot of questions. Case in point, Sadie Sink’s character is still nowhere to be seen (at least clearly). Is she the real bad guy here? If not, who is?
The first trailer also showed a bit of MJ, Ned, and Peter interacting, but here, we see that Spider-Man is also interacting with them. Do we think this film will have the reveal of their now forgotten past? This certainly seems like that.
We’re also curious about Bruce Banner’s role here. How did Bruce start teaching? Where is he teaching? Does he learn about Peter’s true identity? Is the Grey Hulk actually him, or is some other character Hulking out?
Basically, this new trailer shows us a bunch more than we’d already seen, but still leaves us scratching our heads about all of it. Exactly how we like it.
Also starring Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out July 31 and tickets are on sale now.
