Peacock Is Developing ‘Fast and Furious’ Shows, Here Are the Ones We Want

As Fast and Furious fans wait for the next film, Fast Forever, Vin Diesel just made sure that title would be a literal reality. The Fast franchise will be around forever because it’s now expanding to TV and streaming.

At NBC Universal’s upfronts on Monday, Diesel took the stage and said, “Peacock is launching four shows in the Fast and the Furious universe.” However, according to the Wrap, the streamer later clarified that only one show is actually being developed. So, maybe the others are not as far along, or not real at all. You can never tell with Diesel. (Also, it’s worth noting that these are live-action shows and the Fast and Furious franchise first made the move to TV with an animated show on Netflix.)

“As precious about these movies as we have been for the last decade, we have realized that fans wanted more; they wanted to expand the legacy characters and stories,” Diesel said. Okay, so how specifically? What will any of these shows be about? Will they follow the franchise after the 11th movie? Will they go back and fill in gaps left open by the movies? We don’t know. But, as Fast fans, we know what we’d like to see, and here are some ideas.

Han: No Longer Solo

Get it? While the Han character has obviously been well explored in the film franchise, there’s always room for more, especially now that he’s got a kick-ass, adopted daughter to tag along with. And an ex-girlfriend, Gisele, back from the dead.

Sup With Suki?

One of the coolest characters in Fast and Furious history is Suki from 2 Fast 2 Furious. Unfortunately, she never came back. So, what’s she been up to all these years? Let’s find out.

Prison Break: Carter Verone

Many villains in the Fast and Furious franchise have come back to wreak havoc on the Family. One who hasn’t is Carter Verone, the evil gangster from 2 Fast 2 Furious, played by Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser. We need a show following Carter in prison and a subsequent escape so he can come back into the franchise.

Tokyo Drifting

One of the best moments in Fast and Furious history was the return of Sean, Twinkie, and Earl from Tokyo Drift in F9. A lot of time has passed in between, so we’d love to see a show exploring what those guys did during all those years. How did they become crazy scientists? What do they do when they go home? Just generally any and everything about them forever.

Brian’s House

This one is tougher, considering Paul Walker is no longer with us, but we’ve always wondered, what is Brian doing when his friends and family are off saving the world? Is he just sitting around, watching his kid? Does he play video games? Watch the news? He must be doing something important to let his wife, brother-in-law, and friends risk their lives while he never ever helps. (Truly, this bugs us a lot. We wrote about it here.)

The Garage

While most of these are jokes, this one could actually be a real thing. Fast and Furious got its start as a love letter to car culture. The upgrades, the engines, the Nos, all of it. So what about a scripted show set inside a garage where a bunch of people just upgrade and race cars? Oh, that’s another idea…

Race Wars

No, not like that. The Fast and Furious franchise has long established that every year, there’s a huge racing competition that happens for people who love their cars. But we’ve never quite seen how it works, who wins, what the stakes are, etc. Seems like a great idea for a show.

Around the World with Domenic Toretto

The Fast and Furious movies make it very clear that Domenic Toretto is famous all over the world. He knows everyone in every city, where all the good parties are, and so much more. This would be a travel show starring Dom as he goes from country to country, uncovering all the coolest places. Basically, Anthony Bourdain meets Fast and Furious.

Fast and Furious: The Reality Show

This is just a wish and a prayer that someone has been sitting around with a camera for the past several years documenting how poorly Fast X went and how difficult it has been to get Fast Forever off the ground. Think The Studio, but in the world of Fast and Furious.

Seriously, I could come up with these pitches all day. Where’s Gisele? Dom and Jakob: The Early Years. The Leo and Santos Show. Hobbs and Shaw Two. Well, maybe not that one.

What are some ideas you’d like to see in Fast and Furious TV shows? Let us know below.
