Marshall is back with more on-ear wireless headphones, and this time they’ve got one thing you’d expect from any modern pair: noise-cancelling.
The Milton A.N.C. bring active noise-cancelling (ANC) to Marshall’s on-ear wireless headphones for the first time, though its bigger over-ear models have had it for a while now. Marshall also made the Milton A.N.C. adaptive, so they can use the built-in mics to auto-adjust ANC levels depending on the amount of noise in your environment. They’ll come with a transparency mode, too, so you can use mics to hear your surroundings when you don’t want ANC.
Outside of new noise modes, Marshall says it paid special attention to comfort in the Milton A.N.C. by adding a bigger ear cushion that’s also meant to help with passive noise cancellation. Marshall also made the memory foam softer, which the company says should make the Milton A.N.C. better to wear for long periods of time. Sound-wise, Marshall included a new driver system in the Milton A.N.C., which it says should improve both bass and treble as well as support for “Soundstage,” Marshall’s feature for spatializing stereo audio.
One thing that jumps out to me is the battery life. Marshall says the Milton A.N.C. get 80 hours when ANC is off and 50 hours when ANC is turned on. That’s not breaking records, but it’s pretty damn good compared to similarly priced pairs. The $299 Nothing Headphone 1, for example, get just 35 hours of battery life with ANC on and 80 hours with it off.
