For some collectors, their year can be broken down into two parts: before the Dream Book and after the Dream Book. The Dream Book is Hallmark’s name for its annual catalog revealing all the Keepsake Ornaments the company will release that year, and it’s a big deal. It shows collectors what new ornaments are coming out that year, what new franchises are being tackled, and just how hard their wallet will be hit in the lead-up to the holiday season.
Dream Book reveal day happened late last week, and after a few days poring over it, this Hallmark collector has picked out what I think are the weirdest, most fun, and geekiest ornaments coming out this year. Half of them are released on July 11 and the rest on October 10. You can find the full listing for the 2026 ornaments at this link, but below, we’ve pulled a few of our favorites and broken them into categories.
General Favorites
These are ornaments that didn’t quite fit into any smaller box, but we just love them for various reasons.
Star Wars
Hallmark releases a ton of Star Wars ornaments every year, and this year is no exception. Here are just a few of our favorites.
Star Trek
Hallmark doesn’t do as many Star Trek ornaments as Star Wars ornaments, but they are excellent nevertheless.
Other Big Franchises
Here are a few excellent ornaments from other big franchises or properties that don’t start with the word “Star.”
Animation
This is the tip of the iceberg in terms of ornaments based on popular animated films and shows. Check them out.
Video Games
I’m an old-school gamer, so here are a few of my favorite gaming ornaments this year, of which these are only a small number.
Disney
Yes, a few of the things above are also Disney, but we just love these ornaments so much that we had to highlight them, too.
And again, that’s just some. There’s DC, Marvel, more Star Wars, Star Trek, video games, Disney, and more. Head here to see everything coming out.
