There’s new Godzilla toys and figures on a regular basis, and the latest is based on the King of the Monsters’ smash hit, Godzilla Minus One. Bandai recently unveiled the Odo Island Monster figure for its SH MonsterArts line, which takes inspiration from the king during his opening rampage at the start of the 2023 film.
With involvement from Yuji Sakai, a sculptor and modeler who helped design Yamata no Orochi for Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon and has modeled or designed on a Godzilla movie since Godzilla vs. Destroyah, the 4.72-inch figure “faithfully recreates the distinctive forward-leaning posture, large head, and slender torso and legs, with proportions closer to a dinosaur,” said SH MonsterArts. And with wide articulation throughout the body that keep it from breaking proportions, the figure will help fans recreate their favorite Minus One moments at the same time they’re watching it.
This proto-Godzilla only appears once in Minus One during a night scene, so the figure is the first time we get to really see this form in full. SH MonsterArts helpfully reminded fans that the Odo figure lets them “experience the transformation” of Godzilla throughout the film. Before this, the company put out a Minus Color variant in 2024 to match the film’s similarly named black-and-white cut that came out earlier that year. And if you count last year’s figure, exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con that featured Godzilla with its flame breath and glowing fins? Then you’ve got yourself a trilogy of toys.
Pre-orders for the Godzilla Minus One Odo Island Monster figure are now up ahead of its Japanese release this September for 12,100 yen (or about $77). And in November, fans can look forward to the sequel, Minus Zero, in November.
