Following last year’s launch in China, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 7 series to a global audience at MWC 2025.
These tablets aim to offer premium experiences without getting close to the flagship pricing of the Galaxy Tab S10 series or Apple’s iPads.

When will the Xiaomi Pad 7 be released?
The Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro were initially unveiled on 29 October 2024, during Xiaomi’s product launch event in China, alongside the Xiaomi 15 series.
The global launch of the series took place on 2 March 2025 during the MWC 2025 event where Xiaomi also announced the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

How much does the Xiaomi Pad 7 cost?
In China, the Xiaomi Pad 7 starts at CNY 1,999, which is approximately £216/$280 based on current exchange rates.
In the UK, the Pad 7 starts at £369, and the Pad 7 Pro starts at £449. There’s also a matt glass edition of the Pad 7 Pro which is £549.
For comparison, the Xiaomi Pad 6 started at £369 in the UK and around $349.99 in the US (although it wasn’t officially available there) for the base model, while the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro was priced at £599 in the UK and closer to $400 in the US (also not officially).

The Xiaomi Pad 7 series brings significant upgrades over its predecessor, with a focus on productivity, entertainment, and AI-driven features.

Design
The Xiaomi Pad 7 series maintains the sleek and minimalistic design language seen in the Xiaomi Pad 6 series, as well as Xiaomi 15 phones.
Both the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro share an identical design, featuring a sleek form factor that measures 251.22 x 173.42 x 6.18mm and weighs 500g.
This lightweight design seems highly portable and comfortable for extended use.

The tablets are available in Grey, Blue, and Green colour options. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is also included on both models, ensuring quick and secure access.
Display
Both the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro feature an 11.2-inch LCD display with a 3.2K resolution (3200 × 1800 pixels). The 7 Pro also comes in a model with a matt screen.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 comes with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and gameplay and 800 nits of peak brightness, while the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro enhances the experience with HDR10+ support and 900 nits peak brightness, making it a better choice for high-end multimedia consumption.

With a 3:2 aspect ratio, the display is optimised for productivity tasks, promising more vertical space for reading, writing, and multitasking compared to traditional 16:10 or 16:9 tablets.
Performance
The Xiaomi Pad 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, promising a solid balance between performance and power efficiency.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, on the other hand, comes with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a more powerful chipset that brings flagship-level performance to the tablet.

Both models are available with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM for smooth multitasking, and storage options ranging from 128GB to 1TB UFS 4.0 for ultra-fast read and write speeds.
Thanks to Wi-Fi 7 support, users can experience faster internet speeds and lower latency, making it ideal for cloud gaming, video streaming, and remote work.
Cameras
While tablets aren’t typically known for their cameras, Xiaomi has equipped the Pad 7 series with capable sensors for video calls, document scanning, and basic photography.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro features a 50Mp rear camera for improved image quality and a 2MP depth sensor for professional-looking photos. There’s also a 16Mp front camera, said to be optimised for video conferencing and AI-driven face enhancements.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 has a single 13Mp rear camera and an 8Mp front camera, which are more than adequate for most everyday tablet users.
The Pro version also supports dual-camera streaming, allowing users to connect their Xiaomi phone and tablet cameras simultaneously, a feature useful for online meetings and presentations.
Battery & Charging
While the Xiaomi Pad 7 is powered by an 8840mAh battery with 45W fast charging, the Pro model steps up with an 8850mAh battery and 67W fast charging, allowing users to recharge quickly and get back to work or play without long downtimes.

With HyperOS 2’s battery optimisation features, users can expect improved efficiency, extending battery life even further when using power-intensive apps like gaming, video editing, or multitasking.
Software
Both models run Xiaomi HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, bringing a host of AI-driven features and better device integration across Xiaomi’s ecosystem.
Some standout features include HyperConnect, which allows seamless app mirroring between Xiaomi phones and tablets, enabling users to drag phone apps onto the tablet screen. On the other hand, Multi-Device Collaboration enables Xiaomi tablets to be used as a secondary display for laptops or to pair with Xiaomi Smart Pens for digital note-taking.
AI-Powered Productivity introduces the new “AI Art” feature, which lets users sketch on Mi Canvas and convert drawings into high-quality artwork using machine learning algorithms. There’s also the AI-Generated Wallpapers, which allow users to create animated and interactive wallpapers from personal photos and videos.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro supports Xiaomi’s new Home Screen+, allowing users to run mobile apps natively on the tablet interface, similar to Samsung’s DeX mode.
