The time has come to say goodbye to Eddie Brock and the symbiote – Venom: The Last Dance will conclude the trilogy about the cosmic parasite. For now, it’s unknown whether the characters will appear in other films from the Sony universe centred around the famous enemies of Spider-Man.
Even if they do, Tom Hardy allegedly won’t return to the role of Eddie. In an interview with Screen Rant, the actor stated that Venom 3 was his last appearance as the unlucky journalist… unless this is some elaborate lie, as we’ve known Marvel actors to do it before (looking at you, Andrew Garfield).
The last adventure of Eddie Brock and the symbiote is undoubtedly best seen in the cinema. However, if you’re already wondering when Venom: The Last Dance will drop on home media, continue reading our guide.
How to watch Venom: The Last Dance now
The final instalment of the Venom trilogy will hit cinemas on Friday, 25 October 2024. For some time, the movie will be available exclusively in cinemas – check out our Venom 3 ticket sale guide to book the best seats.
Here’s the trailer for the film:
When will Venom: The Last Dance be released on VOD?
The first Venom movie hit VOD after over two months, as did Sony’s smash hit of 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Venom: Let There Be Carnage appeared on digital a bit earlier, around a month and twenty-two days after its cinematic release.
On the other hand, Madame Web, which underperformed at the box office, arrived on VOD just a month after its theatrical release. Thus, if Venom: The Last Dance is a box office disappointment, it may land on digital in late November 2024.
However, it’s more probable that the movie will be a smash, and Sony won’t be in a hurry to bring it to VOD. In that scenario, we expect the third instalment of Eddie’s adventures to be available to rent or buy in the second half of December 2024.
Remember that these are only predictions – Sony hasn’t yet announced when Venom 3 will be available for purchase and rental.
When will Venom: The Last Dance be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
The first Venom on DVD and Blu-ray was available just a week after its release on VOD. If Sony follows a similar path with Venom: The Last Dance, physical copies of the film will appear around Christmas 2024.
On the other hand, for physical copies of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, fans had to wait almost two months after its release on VOD. If Sony follows a similar timing for The Last Dance, the film will hit shelves in February 2025.
When could Venom: The Last Dance be released on streaming services?
According to the agreement between Sony and Netflix, the studio’s films are released on this streaming service a minimum of 120 days after the theatrical release.
Madame Web hit Netflix on 14 May 2024, three months after its theatrical debut. It’s worth noting, however, that the film was a box office disappointment, which may have weighed on the decision to bring it to streaming quickly. The much more successful Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released on Netflix four months after its cinematic debut.
Considering that, Venom: The Last Dance on Netflix may appear on Netflix around 25 January 2025 at the earliest. However, that date could be later, depending on the movie’s box office performance.
An agreement between Sony and Disney signed in 2021 says that after spending some time on Netflix, the studio’s films will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu. Venom: The Last Dance, therefore, will undoubtedly appear on the Mickey Mouse streaming services – however, it hasn’t been announced yet when this may happen.
