Prepare for chaos, as the live-action version of Lilo & Stitch has just landed in theatres worldwide.
After Snow White flopped, the success of another Disney+ live-action flick was in doubt. However, despite receiving mixed reviews, Lilo & Stitch has attracted a great deal of attention from both children and older viewers, who may feel nostalgic about the original animation.
Whether the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has as much charm as the animated film is best decided at the cinema. However, if you already want to know when the movie may hit home media, continue reading this article.

When could Lilo & Stitch be released on VOD?
Disney, which distributes Lilo & Stitch, hasn’t yet revealed any information on the movie’s digital premiere. However, we will try to predict when it may arrive on VOD platforms.
The film’s release date may depend on how Lilo & Stitch does at the box office. Most profitable Disney films usually appear on VOD between 60 to 67 days after opening at cinemas. That was the case with hits such as Mufasa: The Lion King, Moana 2 and Deadpool and Wolverine.
Lilo & Stitch is already doing great at the box office, earning $341 million worldwide during its opening weekend. Therefore, we expect the film to arrive on VOD between Tuesday, 22 July 2025 and Tuesday, 29 July 2025.
Note that this is only an estimation, and the film’s premiere date may slip.
When could Lilo & Stitch be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Usually, physical copies of Disney’s movies hit stores three to four weeks after the digital release. Blockbusters like Deadpool and Wolverine or Inside Out 2 dropped on DVD and Blu-ray 21 days after cinema debut, while copies for Captain America: Brave New World arrived in stores after 28 days.
Lilo & Stitch is likely to follow a similar path. In that case, copies of the tale about the fluffy alien may arrive between Tuesday, 12 August 2025 and Tuesday, 26 August 2025 if our above prediction is correct.
However, there are exceptions to that rule. Moana 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King first arrive on Disney+, and then dropped on DVD and Blu-ray six days later.

When could Lilo & Stitch be released on streaming services?
Most Disney films appear on streaming last. Inside Out 2 and Captain America: Brave New World hit Disney+ 15 days after premiering on DVD and Blu-ray, while Deadpool and Wolverine needed three weeks to do so.
We believe Lilo & Stitch will arrive on streaming between Wednesday, 27 August 2025 and Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
However, Disney may choose a different date to release the film on its platform – we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any news on the subject.
