Whatsapp has announced that it will launch new features for video calls in the chat application. These include filters and backgrounds that you’ll be able to add to video calls, as well as new features that will increase the brightness of your camera image.
The chat application will initially have ten filters and ten backgrounds. The filters include frosted glass, old-fashioned TV, black and white, and fisheye, and the backgrounds include a cafe, an office, a beach, a forest – or you can simply blur the background.
You’ll also be able to tweak your onscreen look using the Touch Up and Low Light options.
The new video calling features in Whatsapp will be rolled out in the coming weeks. You’ll be able to access them by selecting from the effects icons that will appear in the top right of your screen, and you’ll be able to use them in one-to-one or group video calls.
