Timothée Chalamet Looks Messed Up in the First Look at ‘Dune: Part Three’

After last night’s Oscars finally brought the seemingly never-ending awards season to an end, it might feel like it’s time for a break from thinking or talking about Timothée Chalamet. Sorry, but Dune: Part 3 is emerging from the sand later this year, and Warner Bros. has just revealed our first look at Paul Atreides—or rather, his furious forehead above weathered, strikingly blue eyes. Arrakis can do that to a person, you know?

Chalamet shared the first look on his Instagram stories, giving fans a glimpse of the character he’s played across Denis Villeneuve’s adaptations of the classic Frank Herbert sci-fi novels. There was no accompanying text, but we know the movie will adapt Dune Messiah and pick up where Dune: Part Two left off, with Paul leveraging his chosen one status to best the sinister Harkonnens—and then setting out with his Fremen army to take on the Great Houses who oppose him.

The second film also saw Paul parting ways with Zendaya’s character, Chani, though of course she’ll be back in the third film.

The rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Léa Seydoux, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, and franchise newcomer Robert Pattinson. Villeneuve returns to direct and co-write with Jon Spaihts, and the movie is set to come out December 18—yes, it’s still locked in to do box office battle with Avengers: Doomsday.

Update, 7:20 p.m. ET: Warner Bros. has just shared more character glimpses from Dune: Part Three.
