Robot vacuums have become one of the most popular smart home appliances, and with good reason: Convenience of robotic cleaning is hard to overstate. But as much as demand has boomed, so too has the price tag: high-end, top-branded Roborock models now cost more than $2,000 which is an expense beyond what many households can afford.

If you’re searching for a robot vacuum that strikes the perfect balance between price, performance, and reliability, the Roborock Q5 Max+ is an exceptional choice – especially now that it’s on sale at its lowest price ever on Amazon: just $279, which is a massive 53% off its usual $599. You won’t find any better robot vacuums at this price point.

Self-Empty Dock

The Roborock Q5 Max+ offers features typically reserved for much more expensive models, and notably the self-empty dock which provides up to seven weeks’ worth of cordless cleaning and hands-free emptying. What this means is that you can just leave the Q5 Max+ to clean and not concern yourself with dustbin emptying for nearly two months. The dock uses two 2.5L dust bags and will trap a great deal of debris and reduce dust in your home.

Under the hood, the Q5 Max+ is powered by Roborock’s HyperForce system, which delivers a staggering 5500 Pa of suction. That makes it comparable to some of Roborock’s higher-end models and ensures that it can handle everything from dust to heavy debris on hardwood floors, tiles, and carpets. The DuoRoller Brush performs especially well at picking up pet hair and minimizing tangles, so it’s an excellent option for pet owners. Keep in mind that this vacuum is purely a vacuum model and it doesn’t have mopping (some more expensive Roborock models have it).

With Roborock’s very best PreciSense LiDAR technology, the Roborock Q5 Max+ builds highly detailed 3D maps of your house to support accurate and optimal cleaning paths. The robot transitions smoothly to multi-story spaces and can save several floor maps which is perfect for homes with two or more stories. The Roborock app is easy to use and offers features such as no-go zones, zone cleaning, and scheduling.

The Roborock Q5 Max+ has also a great battery life of up to 240 minutes on a single charge and can clean up to 3,767 square feet in a single session. In case the battery is low, the robot returns to its charging dock, recharges, and resumes where it left off so nothing is missed. You don’t have to be around, it will automatically resume the cleaning. What’s great is that smart home integration is also seamless, with voice control available through Alexa, Siri, and Google Home.

This Roborock model nailed the essentials-powerful suction, advanced navigation and real hands-free convenience via its self-empty dock: Of course, it is lighter than some of Roborock’s super-premium models (and sacrifices a couple of luxury features), but it’s way enough for the vast majority of households. At half the original price, it’s really hard to resist.
