May is usually the time Lego goes Star Wars crazy, with a lavish new set launching to celebrate May 4 every year. But with a new Star Wars movie in theaters next month, the brick builder is starting the party a little early by making April the month of the galaxy far, far away too.
Although the new wave of sets for The Mandalorian and Grogu are the standouts for the month, they’re not the only things dropping of note. For fans of classical sci-fi, the latest Lego Ideas sets whisk us away to the moon for a recreation of an iconic Tintin story, while much closer to Earth (and more specifically, the sewers of New York City), we’ve got Lego’s long-awaited return to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line for the first time since 2014.

Lego Ideas Tintin Moon Rocket
The latest release from Lego’s community-focused Ideas range brings the iconic Belgian comic series The Adventures of Tintin to life—or rather, more specifically, the 1953 classic Destination Moon, Hergé’s early exploration of what human spaceflight could realistically look like (the timing with NASA’s new crewed moon mission is pretty neat, too). The set recreates the iconic red-and-white rocket from the comic, as well as Tintin, Snowy the Dog, Captain Haddock and Professor Calculus, and Detectives Thomson and Thomspon in their classic orange spacesuits from the story to go with it. Lego BrickHeadz Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Yes, Lego’s return to the TMNT world for the first time in over a decade isn’t exactly the traditional set fans may have wanted, but it at least puts the spark of life back into the series and opens us up for a minifigure return to the mutagenic Manhattanites. This special set of chibi-fied figurines comes with all four Turtles—because it would be rude to make us get them individually, wouldn’t it? ($40, available here)
Lego Icons Douglas DC‑3 PAN AM Airliner
If you prefer your flying craft both from this galaxy and confined to Earth’s atmosphere, then Lego’s latest Icons set is just for you: a recreation of the classic Douglas DC-3 aircraft, kitted out in Pan Am livery from the golden age of commercial flight. As well as a detailed micro-scale interior for the passenger seats and cockpit, the model includes four minifigures representing the main members of the flight crew—the pilot, the purser, and two flight attendants—in period-appropriate Pan Am uniforms. Lego The Mandalorian and Grogu Sets
Yes, after six years of waiting for Star Wars‘ return to the silver screen, The Mandalorian and Grogu is now just under a couple months away—which means it’s time for merch. Lego will be releasing five sets this month (with one available now, the rest coming at the end of the month) inspired by the new movie, including BrickHeadz figurines of key characters from the film, vehicles new and old, and a new spin on the Lego Razor Crest.
Other Lego Star Wars Sets
They’re not the only Star Wars sets coming, though—the end of April will also see the launch of a new Star Wars subline in the form of a series of busts of iconic characters from the franchise. First up are Darth Vader and Yoda, with one looking… well, a little less haunted than the other.
