The ‘Star Wars’ Black Series Figure We’ve Been Waiting For Is Finally Here

For the past year, this is what has happened here on io9 every time Hasbro has announced a new figure for its Star Wars Black Series line.

James Whitbrook: “Germain, Hasbro just dropped some new Black Series Images.”

Germain Lussier: “Are any of them The Stranger from The Acolyte with a removable helmet revealing the face of Manny Jacinco?”

Whitbrook: *Silence* “No, it is not.”

Without exaggeration, we’ve had that conversation at least a dozen times since the release of The Acolyte last year, every single time new Black Series have been released. But, this weekend, finally, James was able to give me a true Miracle on 34th Street moment. “Yes, Germain, there is a Stranger Black Series.”

Among a slew of new releases announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, our first Black Series figure of the villainous Stranger from The Acolyte, has been revealed. And while no, he doesn’t have a removable helmet, he does have a removable head that swaps out to reveal the visage of Qimir. You may remember that, oddly, Qimir was the only main cast member who didn’t get a toy when the Star Wars show debuted last year. And, even weirder, they didn’t make a toy of the main villain. They could’ve easily done both, making the fearsome helmet just the figure’s head to protect the spoiler. But now, it has happened. And it’s worth the wait. Here are a few images.

The Stranger Black Series will be available to preorder on Hasbro Pulse July 26 at 5 p.m. EST. My only concern is, do I order two? One to display as Qimir and one as the Stranger? Also, what’s my obsession now? Actually, that one is easy. I want Luke Skywalker in his Crait Force Ghost outfit from the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Come on, Hasbro, old buddy, don’t let me down.
