Go ninja, go ninja, go! If those Vanilla Ice lyrics transport you to the mystical realm of 1991, when the streets ran wild with toxic waste, martial arts battles, and pizza parties, mark your calendar for March 13-19. Based on the success of last year’s re-release of 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, its 1991 sequel, TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze, is getting a full week of big-screen dates.

Even better, expect to see the ooze, turtle shells, rat fur, and everything else look more crystal-clear than ever before, since the film will be screening in newly restored 4K.

Last year’s re-release of the original featured deleted scenes and making-of footage; this time around, the bonus comes in the form of “a never-before-seen featurette, The Ninja Turtles: Revolutions,” according to a press release.

Showing ahead of the movie, it will allow fans to “step into the mind of TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, joining him on a vision through the past. Sit down alongside the icon at his personal drawing desk while he illustrates through the revolving history and mythos of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles legend.”

Turtlemania does seem to be on the rise lately; the 1990 original film just announced a fun VHS release, and the Turtles’ more modern iterations have drawn a lot of interest, between the much-loved Mutant Mayhem animated big-screen projects, the just-wrapped Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated TV series, and the late-last-year news of a fresh live-action film in the works. Paramount even has an online hub for fans to keep tabs on all the TMNT currently in the air (including comics, podcasts, live events, merch, and more).

But the massive power of nostalgia is also nothing to sneeze at, as these 35th anniversary screenings can attest. You can find theaters near you and preorder tickets for TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze now through Fathom Entertainment.
