One key thing that left the Samsung Galaxy Ring lagging its biggest competitor, Oura, was that it didn’t offer as many sizes. However, the tech giant is closing that gap.
Samsung has confirmed that it will add size 14 and 15 rings to its line-up, meaning that more people can use these wearables. New sizes will be available to buy from Wednesday 22 January 2025 in the UK and US from the Galaxy store and third-party retailers, and you’ll be able to get them in all three colours: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold.
If you’re someone with larger fingers who finds the 13 a tight fit, this is great news – especially when you consider that your hands can swell throughout the day due to food and sleep, and on a longer-term basis, over the summer as the weather heats up.
On the other end of the scale, Samsung’s smallest size is 5, whereas the Oura Gen 4 goes all the way down to 4.
According to The Verge, the current largest 12 and 13 sizes have up to a day more battery life than the smaller versions – this is likely due to the bigger build having more room for the cell. However, we don’t yet have confirmation on the battery or dimensions for these new additions to the Galaxy Ring family.
In addition, Samsung will add new features to its Samsung Health App that will benefit anyone who regularly tracks their sleep. The first to arrive (in the first half of 2025) is a sleep environment report that provides suggestions on how to optimise your room for a better night’s rest. Based on the screenshots provided by Samsung, and our interview with a sleep expert, this could include making your bedroom darker or adjusting the temperature.

In the second half of this year, Sleep time guidance will suggest the best times to head to bed and wake up based on your sleep patterns, also taking into account your daily habits and the quality of your rest.
The final big app update to Samsung Health is the Mindfulness tracker, where you can log your mood and access breathing exercises and meditation sessions to help reduce your stress levels.
All these updates will also benefit anyone with a Galaxy smartwatch, so you can look forward to these new health features landing later this year.
