Tell Us What You Thought of ‘Coyote vs. Acme’

There’ve been a lot of big movies this year, but Coyote vs. Acme is one of the more interesting. The live-action/animation hybrid movie was announced years ago as part of a Looney Tunes resurgence Warner Bros. was interested in. But then Warner Bros. Discovery happened, and the film was one of many projects canceled for a tax writeoff despite being basically finished with production.

Combined with the equally canceled Batgirl and The Day the Earth Blew Up, outcry against this was pretty strong. Some thought it was anti-art, others a cruel fate for employees who had no say in the merger. With attention-grabbing headlines focused on these three in particular, WB decided Coyote could be shopped around to other distributors. And here we are: thanks to Ketchup Entertainment, who’d also previously acquired Earth, picked up the rights, audiences get to see a movie they otherwise wouldn’t have gotten to if corporate mergers hadn’t gotten on everyone’s nerves enough.

A want to spite WBD and David Zaslav by seeing Coyote vs. Acme has been strong, ditto a curiosity if the film would prove itself to be worth all the trouble. Even if you don’t know the full story behind it, marketing and online chatter’s definitely built it up as an event of some kind. Now that it’s out in theaters, we want to know to what you think of it. Liked it, underwhelmed by it, think it’s an important thing to see—share what you think down in the comments below.
