The biggest American sports event of the year, the Super Bowl, is fast approaching.
This year, the Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the reigning champs, the Kansas City Chiefs. The match will occur in New Orleans, with star Kendrick Lamar heading up the exciting halftime show.
If you’d like to watch along, but can’t afford to fork out for cable or a premium streaming service, never fear. There’s a way to watch Super Bowl LIX for free if you’re in the US – here’s how.
Watch the Super Bowl for free on Tubi
If you want to watch Super Bowl 59 for free, then we have good news: the free streaming app Tubi is teaming up with Fox to allow users to stream it at no extra charge.
You’ll need an account to sign up. All you need to do is enter your name, email, age and gender. You won’t need to enter your address or billing details, as they’re not necessary. You can sign up for an account over on the Tubi website. Note that this is an ad-supported service, so expect commercials.
The game kicks off on Sunday 9 February 2025 at 6:30pm ET / 9:30pm PT, so you’ll want to sign up before then.
Here’s Tubi’s official trailer for the big event:
Tubi will also be airing pre-coverage of the game, which will include ‘cultural moments’, fashion and more, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fox’s pre-game show will be available on the platform, as will red carpet coverage – a great opportunity for Swifties to get a glimpse of the iconic pop superstar, Taylor Swift, who is expected to appear to support the Chiefs, alongside numerous other celebs.
This article from Fox suggests that the stream will be in 4K, though as this Reddit thread points out this will be upscaled as the cameras only shoot in 1080p. Regardless, if you want the best possible quality you’ll want to stream the Tubi app from a device that supports 4K.
