The 60th anniversary of Star Trek arrives September 8, marking the date the show debuted back in 1966. The future of the sci-fi mainstay may be in flux, but there’s still plenty to look back on and enjoy. As you’d expect, a host of screenings are planned in celebration, but there are also some more offbeat tie-ins on the calendar, including themed episodes of game shows Let’s Make a Deal (which has actually been around even longer than Star Trek ) and The Price Is Right .
However, the quirkiest event is happening at London’s Science Museum, where fans will gather to set a Guinness World Record for the most people performing the Vulcan Salute.
