Somehow Paramount’s ‘Avatar’ Movie Has Leaked, Too

A second movie leak has hit the month of April, this time for the retitled Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender.

On Saturday night, a Twitter user claimed they were accidentally sent the entire animated film via email. We won’t share it here, but the user posted two clips featuring the adult Team Avatar and its main villain. At time of writing, they’re both still up and have racked up a sizable amount of interactions. Because Paramount hasn’t shown anything from the movie yet, it’s tough to ID how real these are, but the poster and other comments stand by this being real.

Developed by Flying Bark, Aang is the first of three animated movies based on the Avatar franchise. Last year, Paramount announced it’d put the film on Paramount+ instead of giving it a theatrical release, which fans weren’t happy about. As such, this leak could be considered a byproduct of that decision. This also isn’t the movie’s only leak: weeks ago, promotional material showing the adult team hit online retailers.

We’ve reached out to Paramount and Flying Bark for comment. Combined with last week, this Avatar situation adds to Twitter’s increasing lack of proper security and moderation around leaks. The user very well could put the entire movie on the platform, and it’d probably stay up there for a few hours with no problem.

At time of writing, Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender is still slated to hit Paramount+ on October 9.
