When you think of Star Wars artwork, you think of Ralph McQuarrie. The legendary painter is one of the people directly responsible for the look and design of Star Wars, with his paintings becoming as crucial and recognizable a part of the franchise as the films themselves. And while you’ve seen McQuarrie’s work in books, on trading cards, and more for decades, there haven’t been a lot of chances to own it and put it on your wall. Now is one of those times.
Bottleneck Gallery has teamed up with Lucasfilm to release seven of McQuarrie’s most recognizable pieces as both fine art giclées and acrylic panels. It’s the first time the work has ever been offered up in that medium and we are sure the results will be stunning.
So what pieces are available? Here’s the list:
- Yoda on Dagobah
- Bounty Hunters
- AT-AT Attacks
- Imperial Walker and Snowspeeder
- Sword Fight on Antenna
- Luke in the Trench
- Tie Defense
Here’s a look at all the pieces in all their glory. Are you going to put some Star Wars history on your wall?
The 4mm thick acrylic panels are made with archival pigments and range in size from 12 to 36 inches depending on the piece. They cost between $100 and $125. The giclées range in size between 12 and 24 inches depending on the piece and each cost $89. All of which go on sale at the Bottleneck Gallery website at noon ET today, Friday, January 17. You can get all the specifics at this link.
