One of horror’s biggest hits of the year—a follow-up to one of 2022’s biggest horror hits, in fact—is about to invade your streams: Smile 2 will arrive on Paramount+ tomorrow, December 3. It seems likely a third film will follow (it’s something writer-director Parker Finn has already hinted at), so here’s your chance to catch up on one of the genre’s most energetic new franchises.
Smile 2 hit digital on demand in late November, and has a physical release coming January 21. But the best way to watch it, outside of the theater, is on Paramount+—especially if watching the sequel moves you to revisit the original, which is also streaming there.

Gotta say though, nothing against the first film’s excellently stressed-out star, Sosie Bacon, but we kind of preferred Smile 2‘s flashy pop-star setting, with Naomi Scott making an outstanding focal point amid all the grimacing terrors. Here’s the official synopsis:
“About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.”
If you really want to get wild, pair Smile 2 with a chaser of M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap, which is streaming on Max and is another entry in the “music superstar caught in a whirlwind of nightmares” genre, albeit Trap lacks Smile 2‘s supernatural stranglehold.
Catch Smile 2‘s grinning epidemic on Paramount+ starting tomorrow, December 3.
