Sky Glass is a TV with Sky built-in. It comes in three sizes, three colours and boasts a 4K, HDR Quantum Dot display and a built-in soundbar with Dolby Atmos sound support.
The second-generation version has just launched, and the upgrades include a brighter panel, a beefier sound system and an easier set-up process than its predecessor.

How to buy Sky Glass Gen 2
Sky Glass Gen 2 is now available to order. All you need to do is head to the website, sign up for an account and follow the steps to choose your plan. You can choose the TV model, the payment plan for it, and add your entertainment subscription (and broadband as well, should you want that).
You can buy the TV now on the Sky Glass website.
Sky Glass 2 will also be available for purchase through Currys in the coming weeks. At the moment, only the Gen 1 model is available from this store.

Sky Glass payment plans
If you want to buy Sky Glass, then you’ll need to choose how you wish to pay. You can either pay for the cost of the TV upfront in one chunk or choose to split the payment over either a 24-month/48-month contract.
Prices have increased since the Gen 1 first launched, but here are the costs of each option:
Sky Glass outright costs
- 43in – £699
- 55in – £949
- 65in – £1,199
Sky Glass 24-month contract costs
- 43in – £28 per month (£672 total cost)
- 55in – £38 per month (£912 total cost)
- 65in – £48 per month (£1,152 total cost)
Sky Glass 48-month contract costs
- 43in – £14 per month (£672 total cost)
- 55in – £19 per month (£912 total cost)
- 65in – £24 per month (£1,152 total cost)
Whilst you do save some money overall with contracts, keep in mind that you’ll be locked in with that TV for the long run. In addition, there’s also a small upfront fee for each of the contracts. This is £20 for the 24-month contracts and £10 for the 48-month contracts.
If you want a dedicated Sky Glass Telescopic Wall Mount, this is an extra £99, though it can be spread in monthly instalments. The TV is also compatible with most standard wall brackets.
Sky Entertainment packages and extra costs
Once you’ve chosen the size and colour of your TV, you’ll need to add on your entertainment package. Sky offers different bundles including some with Netflix, some with Sports and more.
Packages start from £15 per month for the Essential TV plan, and are available on a 31-day rolling contract, so you can switch over to something else should you wish. Ultimate TV starts from £22 per month.
Ad skipping, Sports, Cinema and Kids programming will come at an extra cost – plans will vary depending on what you pick. The base plan features Sky Max, Netflix and Discovery+.

Sky
In addition, if you want Sky throughout the rest of your home on other TVs, you’ll need a Sky Stream puck and Whole Home subscription. This requires an upfront cost of £50 for each puck unit and £15 per month on top of your contract.
It’s worth noting that Ultra HDR and Dolby Atmos are not included in your standard package. You’ll need to pay an extra £6 per month for this.
If you cancel your Sky entertainment package, then in theory the TV could still work with apps such as Netflix, or with a Freeview aerial/box. However, if you’re locked in with the TV monthly payments, you’ll still have to stick to them.
Can I upgrade from Sky Glass Gen 1 to Gen 2?
At the time of writing, no. If you’re mid-contract with a Gen 1 TV, you’ll need to finish payments on that plan before purchasing a new one.
Sky also isn’t running any recycling scheme for the older TVs. You can keep the panel, but if you want to use the Sky OS you’ll need to pay for a Whole Home puck.
