The Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood has just added an enticing new attraction. While the Friends set surely still appeals to sitcom fans, a major cinematic presence has landed with a temporary exhibit celebrating the most-nominated film in Oscar history: Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners.
Sure, it looks great in 70mm IMAX, but if you really want to see the details up close, this sounds like your best chance yet. The display is part of the Studio Tour’s “Stage 48: Script to Screen” area; if you want to see it, make plans now, since Sinners will only be up through March 31.
The costumes and production design were key in helping Sinners bring early 1930s Mississippi to life, with two-time Oscar winner and frequent Coogler collaborator Ruth E. Carter (Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) creating the period-perfect outfits for the ensemble cast. As Variety reports, the Sinners exhibit features the wool suits, inspired by Chicago gangsters of the era, worn by both of Michael B. Jordan’s twin-brother characters. Fans can also see costumes for Sammie (Miles Caton) and Annie (Wunmi Mosaku), as well as “props and prosthetics” that “will allow guests to step into the world of Clarkesville and Club Juke.”
Sammie’s charmed 1932 guitar, which appears in a crucial scene, is also part of the exhibit. The instrument was used by the film’s composer, Ludwig Göransson (another frequent Coogler collaborator and Oscar winner), while recording the Sinners score, giving it multiple levels of importance here.
Variety has a few photos showcasing the new display (it looks like the costumes are all from, uh, before, so don’t worry about spotting any Spirit Halloween-style bloodstains); you can find out more about the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at its website.
