A few months ago, Prime Video pulled back the curtain on its upcoming video game series, Secret Level. With just under a month before it premieres, the studio’s put out a new trailer that teases out more of the show’s plethora of worlds it’ll be exploring.
Developed by Blur Studios and Love, Death & Robots creator Tim Miller, Secret Level is an anthology that’ll devote an individual episode to the characters and setting of a specific game. (Or in one episode’s case, an assortment of PlayStation properties, including God of War.) The list of games covered includes games new and old, from triple-A to indie, from Mega Man and The Outer Worlds to Unreal Tournament and Spelunky. If that weren’t impressive enough, look at its cast: Laura Bailey, Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other big-name stars will lend their voices as characters during the show’s run.
Like in the previous trailers, every featured game gets some time to shine here and try to sell you on their eventual spotlight. But some have a little more spotlight than others: Sifu gets some new footage of its protagonist kicking ass and taking names (and dying), and we get a small, colorful peek into Concord’s short-lived sci-fi universe. (A universe which Miller has previously said folks will be sad they missed out on once they see the episode devoted to the now-dead shooter.) Some are making the leap out of games for the very first time, and others have come to animation (or live-action) a few times now—but hopefully they’re all good and continue the streak of pretty good game adaptations we’ve gotten this year.
Secret Level hits Prime Video on December 10, with two episodes airing each week.
