‘Scream 7’ Calls in Early With Its New Super Bowl Trailer

Who needs the Super Bowl to start promo after all? Paramount’s decided to get in on the ad festivities early with the “big game” spot for Scream 7 this morning, with some new footage and a nostalgic poster.

Set years after Scream 6, the new film takes us to Pine Grove, Indiana, where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has been living a nice life with her family. But someone new’s taken up the Ghostface mantle and started killing again. Along with Sidney’s family being in danger, several of the victims include the friends of her daughter Tatum (Isabel May), which requires the Prescotts to get some help from Gale (Courtney Cox) and the Meeks-Martin twins, Mindy (Jasmine Savoy-Brown) and Chad (Mason Gooding).

This new spot teases one of the new big kills and a potential killer having a fixation on Sidney for years and just escaping a psychiatric hospital. Whoever they are, they’ve intentionally started up at the same age Tatum and her friends were when Sidney and Gale first went through all this in the original Scream. And it’s not a coincidence that this and the first trailer end with someone who sounds like Matthew Lillard saying all of this “is going to be fun” for them.

Scream 7 hits theaters on February 27, and tickets go on sale next Monday, February 9.

It’s time to face your past, Sidney.
