When it comes to audio, Samsung pretty much does it all. It’s got wireless earbuds, of course (with and without tips), speakers (even Wi-Fi ones), and soundbars. It even has the Music Frame, a picture frame that also plays music, because why not? If there’s one glaring omission in this lineup, though, it’s wireless headphones—a category that, if recent leaks are anything to go by, it may not be absent from for very long.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is working on a pair of wireless headphones, and the evidence has turned up in strings of code spotted inside its Galaxy Wearable app. The internal name, seen by SamMobile, is apparently the Galaxy H1, and there are some illustrations to go along with those hints. Clearly, given the existence of app support, these are going to be Bluetooth headphones and not wired.
Other than that, there’s not much to go off of yet, but as SamMobile notes, given the dearth of information, they could be a little ways from launch—perhaps at some point in 2027.
Though Samsung hasn’t been in the wireless headphones game for some time, it has had pairs in the past, including the Level Over, released over 10 years ago, all the way back in 2015. That pair had active noise cancellation (ANC) and a 15-hour battery life. It also had NFC pairing, which is not something you see anymore.
Clearly, it’s been a while for Samsung, and the question is what opportunity it sees in the wireless headphones space in 2026—or I guess 2027. Does it go ultra-premium to compete with Apple’s AirPods Max 2, which cost an eye-watering $550? Or does it try to undercut the Apple premium with a pair of wireless headphones that fall more in line with Bose’s $300 QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) or the $300 Nothing Headphone 1?
For now, it’s all speculation, but I’m glad Samsung is seemingly getting back into wireless headphones. If its new pair is as solid as the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, we’ll be in good shape.
