This unique watch looks like a mini turntable on your wrist, and not just any turntable – designer Yu Ando has taken inspiration from the legendary Technics SL-1200, every DJ’s favourite turntable since the late 1970s.
The watch is powered by an ultra-thin Miyota 9039 movement with a 42-hour power reserve between windings. In true Technics SL-1200 spirit, the dial lacks numbers – instead, markings around the turntable-inspired case are used to display hours, minutes and seconds.
There certainly won’t be anyone mistaking this for a smartwatch.

The minute hand is shaped like a pickup arm, while the hour hand is indicated by a spinning disc label where an “A” marks the current hour. The seconds hand is to be read when the text is completely horizontal, signalling that the seconds have just changed to a new minute.
This wrist watch is not really a piece to tell you the time (although it can do that well). Instead, it tells people around you what kind of human you are, a sophisticated music lover!” says the official site.
The watch is now available for pre-order in three colours:
- Red, black and silver
- Black, gold and black
- A limited edition in gold
The first two models cost £340, while the Limited Edition all gold version is priced at £353, however, the latter is sold out at the time of writing. Deliveries are expected to start in April 2025.
