Minimalism is back in vogue. Pebble, the once-defunct and now revitalized wearables company, has yet another smartwatch that will remind you of when tech was easy, fun, and—most importantly—had physical device controls. The new $200 Pebble Round 2 offers a color e-paper display and a multi-week battery life without the squared Apple Watch-like watch face.
The new rounded smartwatch is a pseudo sequel to the old Pebble Time Round from back in 2015. The revised version sports a 1.3-inch color touchscreen display with 260 x 260 resolution. That display is larger and sports less of a bezel than the decade-old smartwatch.
There’s also an even better reason to pay attention to this minimalist smartwatch. Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky promises the Round 2 will last an estimated two weeks before you need to charge it again.
The Pebble Round 2 supports touch controls. For those who hate tapping tiny screens, it will still use a four-button layout for navigating menus alongside its thin, 8.1mm stainless steel frame. The smartwatch will support relatively simple sleep, step, and health tracking features. It will also feature the same open-source operating system that supports the Pebble Appstore for all your new or old apps.
Pebble’s rounded smartwatch may be its classiest look yet, especially with three color options in matte black, brushed silver, or polished rose gold. There are options for 20 or 14mm silicon watch bands, though you can only get rose gold in 14mm and matte black in 20mm. Pebble also says it’s making extra leather band options in each size.
Know your band size before you buy
Pebble says the Round 2 is currently in the design verification stage of development, so there’s no specific release date. The company plans to show the devices off at CES 2026 (and you can bet we’ll try to go hands-on during the conference next week). In a release, Pebble wrote, “This watch has been a lot easier to build because we’re reusing the electrical design from Pebble Time 2, the mechanical design from Pebble Time Round, and open-source PebbleOS.”
At least, this design will be far less controversial than its recording ring, the Index 01. That ring has a limited shelf life without any rechargeable battery, meaning you’ll have to send it back to Pebble for recycling once its product life is up.
Though there’s no precise release date, you can still preorder the Pebble Round 2. If you were waiting for your $225 Pebble Time 2, you can also switch up your choice of wearable if you prefer a device with no corners. Pebble says customers can sign in to their preorder page to change from the Time 2 to the Round 2.
