The Vampire Lestat is coming next summer. Get a new look at Matthew Rhys’ mysterious Apple TV show Widow’s Bay. Plus, Strangers With Candy‘s Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello are reuniting for a reboot of The Wasp Woman. Spoilers, away!

The Wasp Woman

Variety reports a “comedic” remake of The Wasp Woman is now in development from Strangers With Candy creators Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello, and Stephen Colbert. While Dinello is set to write and direct the film, Sedaris will star as Janice Starlin, “the founder of a cosmetics company who attempts to reverse the aging process using experimental enzymes derived from queen wasps, with disastrous results.”

The Vampire Lestat

According to TV Insider, The Vampire Lestat will premiere sometime in the summer of 2026 on AMC+.

Doctor Who

Appearing as a guest on The Gerry Anderson Podcast, Paul McGann confirmed the “leaked” set photos of himself with Billie Piper filming next year’s Doctor Who Christmas special were indeed AI-generated.

Just recently, I mean in the last week or so, there’s me and Billie Piper working together. If only. And so people are like, ‘Oh, come on, it has to be true,’ and the rumor mill kicks in.

Widow’s Bay

Bloody-Disgusting also has our first look at Widow’s Bay, the new series from Ghostbusters: Answer the Call writer Katie Dippold starring Matthew Rhys, Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey. Set on a “quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England,” the series concerns Mayor Tom Loftis (Rhys), a man “desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no wifi, spotty cellular reception, and he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. He wants these people to respect him. They don’t. They think he is soft and cowardly. And he is. But Loftis is determined to build a better future for his teenage son and turn the island into a tourist destination. Miraculously, he succeeds: tourists are finally coming. Unfortunately, the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true start happening again.”

The Beauty

Bloody-Disgusting also has six character posters for Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty. Click through to see the rest. More at the link.

Primal
