OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus Pad 3 tablet, and it’s shaping up to be a serious flagship tablet contender.

Confusing naming scheme aside, the OnePlus Pad 3 is quite clearly a top notch tablet package at a very keen price, and a potentially worthy follow-up to the OnePlus Pad 2.

It starts with the company’s thinnest ever body – just 5.97mm thick, in fact. OnePlus also claims that by using a different type of aluminium, it remains tough whilst keeping relatively light (675g).

It ships in two colours: Storm Blue or Frosted Silver, though only the former will be available in Europe.

OnePlus Pad 3 specs

The OnePlus Pad 3 is one of the first tablets to market to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Paired with either 12 or 16GB of RAM, and with a mighty vapour chamber that incorporates a graphene composite material, it promises to be quite the performer.

On benchmarks alone, it’s set to be significantly faster than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.

You can count on either 256 or 512GB of internal storage, and there’s a large 12,140mAh battery keeping things ticking. When it comes to recharging, there’s support for the 80W SuperVooc standard.

The display is a large 13.2-inch LCD with a 3392 x 2400 (3.4K) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, as well as the company’s distinctive 7:5 aspect ratio, and a top brightness (in HBM) of 900 nits. It might not be OLED, but OnePlus is promising a high degree of vibrancy with 12-bit colour support.

Audio quality should be on par, too, with an eight speaker set-up made up of four woofers and four tweeters.

There’s no fingerprint sensor here, interestingly.

Cameras aren’t all that important in the tablet world, but here’s what you’re getting: a 13MP camera around back, and an 8MP camera around front. The main camera can manage 4K/30fps video, for what it’s worth.

OnePlus Pad 3 software

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the OnePlus Pad 3 is its software provision.

It runs on OxygenOS 15 Tablet Edition, sat on top of Android 15, but that’s not where the interest lies.

Besides the expected tablet-optimised smart multitasking and screen sharing features, OnePlus is making it easier to share, mirror and even control nearby phones and laptops – even on Mac.

Open Canvas has been evolved, letting you drag and drop between multiple separate programs. It’ll now suggest when such a split screen option might be advantageous to you.

You also get the expected suite of AI tools, including AI Summary, AI Writer (generate text based on image and text briefs), and AI Speak (read articles aloud), and AI Translation.

OnePlus Pad 3 accessories

Alongside its new flagship tablet, OnePlus has announced a new upgraded keyboard accessory with larger, more spaced out keys and the ability to adjust the viewing angle between 110 and 165 degrees. You also get a bunch of useful command keys and a dedicated AI button.

Elsewhere OnePlus has supplied a completely redesigned tri-fold case with stronger magnets and a new magnetic buckle for fastening the optional OnePlus Stylo 2.

Talking of which, the OnePlus Stylo 2 provides a slick stylus experience for sketching and taking notes. It now features 16,000 pressure levels and a faux-leather texture.

There’s a new interface element, too, that lets you swipe the pen in the upper right corner of the tablet to annotate whatever’s displayed on the screen at the time.

OnePlus Pad 3 price and availability

The OnePlus Pad 3 will be available to buy from 19 June 2025 at 9am BST. Pricing starts at £529 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, moving up to £599 for the 16GB/512GB model.

That’s about half the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, despite offering significantly more performance.

The new keyboard costs £169, while the OnePlus Stylo 2 costs £99.
