The excellent OnePlus Watch 3 smartwatch was recently launched, but there were some minor drawbacks to it, namely the size and the lack of optional LTE.
OnePlus itself seems to have been aware of the shortcomings of the smartwatch, as it seems to have a new product in the works that should solve those problems.
9to5Google reports that OnePlus health chief Leo Zhang has revealed that the company is aware that the OnePlus Watch 3 is too big and heavy for some wrists, but says they will have a solution for it this year.
Whether this is the OnePlus Watch 3R as a follow-up to the Watch 2R or another model remains to be seen.
Zhang also said that it’s not the technology that stands in the way of LTE (mobile data) in the smartwatch, OnePlus just needs to negotiate agreements with mobile operators, something they are now in the process of doing, including here in Europe.
