Now We Know When Prime Video Is Bringing ‘Good Omens’ to Its End

The timing is certainly curious. Just over a week since Neil Gaiman took to the internet to again deny the sexual misconduct allegations that have been made against him by several different women (while casually mentioning he’s got a new book in the works), Prime Video has finally revealed an airdate for Good Omens season three.

At long last, we’ll get to see if the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale, the “ineffable husbands” played by David Tennant and Michael Sheen, can work out their cosmic differences on May 13.

And finally…3. See you soon 😇😈 pic.twitter.com/kfWa1qOElR

As has been known for some time, what was originally going to be a full-on third season of Good Omens—based on Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel—was scaled back into a 90-minute special. This decision came after work on season three was paused following the allegations against Gaiman in September 2024; it was then reported that Gaiman, Good Omens‘ showrunner as well as a writer and producer, had stepped back entirely from his creation.

So much time passed with no updates that over the summer, Sheen himself wondered if Good Omens season three would ever see the light of day. But with today’s teaser, we know that Prime Video has decided it’s been long enough.

Fans of the show will surely take this news with a divided mindset. Season two ended on a tantalizing cliffhanger, and the urge to see what happens next—can an angel and a demon find happiness? And maybe battle off another apocalypse while they’re at it?—is very powerful.

On the other hand, anything associated with Gaiman now carries with it a layer of ick that might be hard to see past, even if he didn’t have too much involvement in Good Omens‘ final outing. (Did you hear anyone talking about Sandman season two? Didn’t think so.) If you loved Good Omens before, are you still excited to tune in May 13 and see how it all turns out?
