Ninja’s latest air fryer, the Crispi, has now launched in the UK. Although Ninja has made some of the best air fryers around, they’ve always been fairly traditional models.
The Crispi is not like any of Ninja’s existing air fryers: it’s a modular appliance, with interchangeable, multifunctional parts.
Ninja
The key part is a plug-in frying lid Ninja calls the Crispi Power Pod.
When you want to cook, you attach the Power Pod to the top and a stick a crisper plate inside one of two tempered glass dishes – with either a 1.4L or 3.8L capacity, for a main or a side. The larger dish has enough space to cook a 1.2kg chicken and the smaller one is ideal for a lunch for one. The dishes have heatproof bases, so you can cook directly on a kitchen counter.
Also included in the kit are two BPA-free plastic lids to fit the glass dishes, for storing food.
The Crispi has a top temperature of 185°C and four cooking modes: air fry, roast, keep warm and “recrisp” (reheat). It’s powerful too, at 1700W, with compact dimensions of 34.5 x 30.4 x 34cm (HxWxD).
It even comes in three non-traditional colour options: sage, cyber space blue and stone.
It’s priced at £179.99 and you can buy it from Amazon, Currys and Argos, among other retailers. It’s already available in the US, where it costs $179.99 from Ninja Kitchen and Amazon.
Here are 5 things it can do that no other air fryer can.
You can store the Crispi in a cupboard

Ninja
Air fryers demand a lot of kitchen real estate. And, as they’re fairly heavy, they’re not the kind of countertop cooker you can easily sling in a cupboard and grab when you want to cook. They also tend to be black, boxy appliances that make a kitchen counter look dark and cluttered.
But as the Crispi parts stack up for easy storage, you can enjoy the benefits of air fryer cooking – that is, quicker, cheaper meals – without having to sacrifice counter space or the look of your kitchen.
You can use it on the go
If you eat lunch at work, you may be suffering from sandwich fatigue. Not everyone has access to a microwave when away from home, but if your workspace has a kitchenette with a power point, you can cook your lunch in the Crispi.
All you’ll need to bring in is the Power Pod lid, which is light and portable enough to stick in your bag, and one of the lidded glass containers, which you can use to store your prepped food while you travel. It’s leakproof and has a snap closure.

You can serve food straight from it
Air fryers simplify cooking. But the Crispi cuts out another stage of dinner prep. You can bring the glass cooking dish to the table and serve food straight from it. It even has easy-grip handles to make it safer to carry around while hot.
Not only does this mean you’ll use fewer dishes, but you can stick the glass dish straight into the dishwasher when you’ve finished with it, so it means less washing up as well.

You can use it as a container
But if you have leftovers, you can snap a lid onto the cooking and serving dish, and store them in the fridge.
You can use it right on your countertop
The Crispi is ideal for travel as you can use it anywhere there’s a plug point and a flat surface. The TempWare glass containers have heat-resistant feet and the Power Pod cooking lid has heat-resistant prongs, so they can both stand on a surface – any surface, including marble, granite, quartz or even a butcher’s block – without damaging it.
The glass cooking dishes also act as a viewing window, so you can see when your food is starting to brown without removing the cooking lid.
