Netflix has started testing a new AI search feature powered by technology from Chat GPT developer Open AI, Bloomberg reports.

The search function will enable users to conduct much more specific searches on the streaming service for both films and TV series – not just for genres or specific actor names.

For example, users will be able to ask Netflix to show content based on a specific mood.

The new search feature will be optional for Netflix iOS users in Australia and New Zealand and will expand to the US “in the coming weeks and months” according to Netflix spokesperson MoMo Zhou in a comment to The Verge.

Zhou also stated that there are currently no plans to expand the feature beyond iOS, and we don’t know when (or if) the feature will come to the UK just yet.
