Despite opening towards the end of 2024, Moana 2 was the third biggest film of 2024. It’s now broken the $1 million mark at the box office, the second Disney sequel to do so last year.
Moana, now an experienced sailor, receives a vision from her ancestor Tautai Vasa. According to him, the evil god Nalo, desiring power over mortals, has sunk the island of Motufetu, linking all islands and securing the connection of humans to the ocean. Moana is the only person who can pull Motufetu to the surface and restore the old order.
Moana can count on help from the shapeshifting demi-god Maui, her pet pig and rooster, as well as Maui fanboy Moni, craftswoman Loto, and grumpy elderly farmer Keke. The whole group embarks on an adventure inspired by Polynesian mythology.
The tale of Moana and her friends is best seen on the big screen. However, if you already feel like rewatching the animation, here is when it may be available on home media.

The Moana sequel has landed on digital in the UK and the US.
In the United Kingdom, Moana 2 is available for rental or purchase on Amazon UK.
In the United States, you can buy or rent movies on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and iTunes.
When could Moana 2 be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
The release date of Moana 2 on DVD and Blu-ray is unknown. However, Disney usually doesn’t delay releasing physical copies of its films. Deadpool 3 and Inside Out 2 appeared on store shelves only 3 weeks after debuting on VOD.
Based on the VOD release date of 28 January, Moana 2 will arrive on VOD and Blu-ray around 18 February 2025.

When could Moana 2 be released on streaming services?
Moana 2 will find its streaming home on Disney+, and it could happen quite quickly. Inside Out 2 hit the service 15 days after physical copies were released. Deadpool and Wolverine needed slightly more time and appeared on Disney+ three weeks after debuting on DVD and Blu-ray.
If Moana 2 follows the same pattern, the film may drop on Disney+ in early March 2025.
