Lost’s Carlton Cuse Is Working on a Mysterious Star Wars Show

Just when you thought the barrage of Star Wars news was dying down in the wake of Star Wars Celebration Japan this past weekend, here’s another nugget: Lost writer Carlton Cuse is reportedly working on a new Star Wars series alongside his son, Nick Cuse.

This news comes from the Insneider and was followed up on by Variety. The trade points out that if the show comes to fruition, Cuse would be following in the footsteps of another Lost alum who ventured to the galaxy far, far away: J.J. Abrams. (Fans will recall a third Lost alum, Damon Lindelof, had a less-than-stellar Star Wars experience.)

Beyond that, however, we know, well… zero: “There are practically no other details available about the show, such as which characters it will include, when it will take place in the Star Wars timeline or which actors will be cast.”

If the show—whatever it may be—comes together, it would be a first-time professional collaboration for the father and son duo, who separately have plenty of credits piled up. Carlton Cuse worked on Lost, Bates Motel, The Strain, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke & Key, and Pulse; Nick Cuse’s resume includes The Leftovers, Watchmen, and Station Eleven.

Definitely some genre bona fides between the two, but like all things Star Wars, time will tell if this project actually blasts off. What do you think of this news? What era of Star Wars do you hope Team Cuse might dig into?
