The live-action Gundam movie adds a Spider-Man: Brand New Day star. Disney has found directors for its ugly stepsisters movie. Plus, filming updates for the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Spoilers away!

Gundam

According to Deadline, Michael Mando has joined the cast of Netflix’s live-action Gundam movie in a currently undisclosed role. The film will begin production in Australia next month—historically a place in Gundam that has not had the best of luck.

Remember Me

Bloody-Disgusting reports Brec Bassinger (Final Destination: Bloodlines) will star in Remember Me, a film adaptation of the novel by Christopher Pike at Tubi. Directed by Danishka Esterhazy (Slumber Party Massacre) the young adult supernatural murder-mystery concerns the deceased Shari Cooper, who fell from the top of a high-rise to the street below and is tasked with solving her own murder posthumously. Mila Rayne, Phoebe Lyons, Matthew Vey, and Kealeboga Masango are attached to co-star.

The Dregs

Deadline reports filming has wrapped on The Dregs, a “comedic thriller” with supernatural elements starring Stephen Lang, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Piper Curda, Maddie Phillips, Max Lloyd-Jones, and Charlie Gillespie. Directed by Connor Martin, the story centers on “a friends’ trip to the Italian Alps that takes a terrifying turn after they drink a cursed bottle of Grappa. Lang plays the antagonist, a bitter Alpine waiter whose family recipe for Grappa involves alchemy and witchcraft.”

71 Minutes

According to THR, Jason Reitman is attached to direct 71 Minutes, a “supernatural thriller” at Sony Pictures produced through the “Ghost Corp” sub-label of Ghostbusters-related media. Based on a spec script by Ian Shorr, the story is only described as a “real-time thriller about a man who needs to elude his pursuers in a ticking clock scenario and only has 71 minutes until the sun rises to do so.”

Stepsisters

Deadline also has word Akiva Schaffer, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are attached to direct Stepsisters at Disney, a movie focusing on Cinderella’s “ugly” stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella.

Jumanji 3

Deadline reports Jumanji 3 will now be released a week later on Christmas Day to avoid competition with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.

Thinestra

A new weight loss drug causes shed body fat to mutate into ravenous doppelgangers of its user in the trailer for Thinestra.

Scooby-Doo

Deadline confirms Paul Walter Hauser has indeed joined the cast of the live-action Scooby-Doo TV series at Netflix, but cannot confirm whether he’s playing “Scooby’s original owner,” as previously reported.

School Spirits

School Spirits has been officially renewed for a fourth season at Paramount+. [Deadline]

Daredevil: Born Again

In a recent Twitter post, Vincent D’Onofrio blamed the Punisher’s absence from the latest season of Daredevil: Born Again due to the character “hangin’ with that insect” in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well as filming his own “special” at Disney+.

If John wasn’t busy making his own hour long Punisher film and hangin with that insect we would have wanted him to join us in Season 2 for sure.
Yet he had a wonderful opportunity to do the other projects and i for one can’t wait to see him in those.

Wednesday

To promote the upcoming third season of Wednesday, the disembodied hand of Thing will somehow throw out the first pitch at tonight’s opening MLB game of the New York Yankees vs. the San Francisco Giants. [Bloody-Disgusting]

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

According to Deadline, filming wraps on the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms sometime this June.

Smiling Friends

Comic Book has titles and synopses for the final two episodes of Smiling Friends.

Friend Bot (Version 12589218731809213528796879521): [LOGLINE REDACTED FOR VIOLATING TERMS AND SERVICES].

Charlie’s Uncle Dies and Doesn’t Come Back: Pim and Charlie meet Charlie’s Uncle, who’s full of mysteries and tricks alike. And then Allan goes gaga.

Devil May Cry

Finally, Netflix has released a new trailer for the second season of Devil May Cry.
