I Can’t Stop Staring at This Official Half-Human-Torch Fantastic Four Costume

Disney has unveiled its selection of costumes for 2025, and they’re spectacularly silly and delightful.

Leading the pack with incredible camp are The Fantastic Four: First Steps costumes. While Sue and Reed’s costumes play it safe, those for the Human Torch and the Thing offer better representations of their powers. Seriously, I cannot stop looking at the “flame on” mid-transformation look. It’s so ridiculous, I love it and sort of want to roller skate around in it.

Check out the gallery below for images of the rest of the Fantastic Four, noting that instead of a bulky, heavy costume for the Thing, it’s inflatable with a textured mask. I only wish Reed had inflatable arms of some sort that waved around like those wacky tube people. Sue admittedly got done dirty, but how can you add invisibility to the outfit? Maybe by adding a green glove and editing your arm out in post?

Unfortunately for Red Hulk from Captain America: Brave New World, the inflatable approach doesn’t fare as well as it does for the Thing. Seriously, the look of rage on it makes it appear as if President Ross prays for the sweet release of bursting out of existence. It’s wildly unhinged and hard to unsee—but it’ll be a winner in the jump-scare department for anyone with the courage to step into the most horrifying Marvel costume yet.

For the most part, however, the inflatables elevate the cartoony nature of Disney franchise costumes. They’re particularly effective with Pixar’s Toy Story, where the designs are more in line with the animation style of the characters. The inflatable Buzz Lightyear space suit does a better job at evoking the perfect shape, whereas the fabric ones of the past sort of felt flat. Then, of course, finally seeing Rex in an inflatable dino form is just perfect, no notes.

There are also, of course, cozy versions of some of the costumes, like onesies and hoodies for Monsters Inc. that capture their fuzzy and textured essence. Sully and Mike Wazowski come to life with creative flair and comfort in Posh Peanut’s Monsters Inc. collection, and Boo costumes are available at the Disney Store.

And speaking of fuzzy, Star Wars also released iconic new costumes for kids, like the cutest Princess Leia and (always sold-out) Ewok baby outfits we’ve ever seen. But hey, there’s always the pet ewok look to round out a family group costume.
