The next Nintendo Direct presentation takes place today and will be the official launch for the long-awaited Switch 2 console.
The Japanese gaming giant already partly announced the console a few weeks ago, but now we should get the full details, including the price, specs, on-sale date and launch titles.

When is the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
The next Nintendo Direct will take place today, Wednesday 2 April at 2:00pm UK time (BST). Here are the start times for other locations:
- US West Coast: 6:00am PT
- US East Coast: 9:00am ET
- Central Europe: 3:00pm CET
As usual, Nintendo is a little coy with what the stream will include, simply saying it’s “a closer look at Nintendo Switch 2!” We do know it will last around an hour, so there will be plenty of detail.

What is Nintendo Direct?
Nintendo Direct is the legendary Japanese gaming company’s way of communicating with both the press and fans. It’s namely for making news announcements for upcoming games.
The announcements can vary, from new gameplay features to new accessory reveals and even release date announcements. Previously, Nintendo used past Direct presentations to unveil the Nintendo Switch, as well as many of its best Nintendo Switch games.
Occasionally there will be a dedicated Pokémon Presents stream, especially for the franchise, or particular games like Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.
