Google I/O 2025 is officially confirmed to take place between 20-21 May 2025 in Mountain View, California. Here’s what time the main keynote is due to start:
- 10am PST (West Coast US)

If the past events are anything to go by, this one should last for around two hours.
How to watch the Google I/O 2025 keynote livestream
You’ll be able to tune into the keynote live stream from Google’s official YouTube channel. As soon as the stream is available, we will embed it below, so you can watch it live directly from this page.
In the meantime, let’s take a look at what was announced at Google I/O last year:
Alternatively, you should be able to watch the keynote by signing in with your Google account on the event website. There will also be access to other sessions and communities there.
If you miss the live stream, then you will almost certainly be able to watch it on demand after it has finished.
What will be announced at Google I/O 2025?
I/O is a developer conference, so the main focus is usually software.
That’s unlikely to be different in 2025, with Android 16 for phones and Wear OS 6 for smartwatches both likely to get an official announcement. Alongside it, further enhancements and new AI futures for Gemini are also likely.
Google often uses I/O to also talk about hardware, especially the mid-range A-series, but this year the Pixel 9a was launched in March. The Pixel Fold 2 is almost certainly not going to happen, as Google introduced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold last year and we expect it to continue with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold in August.
New headphones or earbuds are possible, but there’s a real chance we won’t see any new hardware at the event. Check out our article on what to expect at Google I/O 2025 to find out more about all the new software features and devices we might see there.
