March Madness is officially here, a tournament that determines which men’s and women’s teams will be the NCAA Division I college basketball champions.
The season kicked off on 18 March, and if you want to catch the matches – including all the Sweet 16 games – then we have everything you need to know if you’re based in the US or UK. We also have a similar guide for the Premier League and the Formula 1.
The schedule for this year’s tournament can be found here.
How to watch March Madness in the US for free
American viewers can watch all the men’s games in March Madness either on CBS, TBS, or TNT on broadcast TV. Cable subscribers can also watch all the games on TBS and TNT on the official NCAA March Madness Live app.
If you prefer streaming, you can catch the games that air on CBS on Paramount+ for $7.99 per month. This offers a seven-day free trial for new users, so if you want to watch a specific game, you can wait to start your trial and then cancel before you’re billed.
TBS, TNT and TruTV games are available to Max subscribers via the B/R Sports add-on. Max subscriptions start from $9.99 per month, with the additional sports subscription also priced at $9.99 per month.
Sadly there isn’t a free trial for Max, but you can take advantage of its original shows such as The Last of Us and House of the Dragon.
You can also get coverage through premium streaming subscriptions such as DirecTV (5-day free trial), Hulu + Live TV (7-day free trial) and Fubo (3-day free trial).
The women’s games will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN 2 – you can also stream on ESPN+. The premium streaming platforms listed above also offer access to these channels.
How to watch March Madness in the UK
If you’re in the UK, then you can watch all of the men’s March Madness basketball games and all the remaining women’s games via Sky Sports+. This costs £22 per month.
If you’ve not got this included in your TV package, then you should also be able to stream via Now, which at the time of writing has discounted its Sports Membership by 25%, knocking the price down to £26 per month.
