Guillermo del Toro fans not located in London have yearned from afar to ogle the ornamental majesty of the creative work featured in “Frankenstein: Crafting a Tale Eternal,” a gorgeous-looking exhibit dedicated to the director’s recent Netflix release. Our prayers to the red saint have been answered as Deadline confirms it’s headed to LA, with timing that suggests it’s hoping to help the film court Oscar votes—but any monster lover in the area can make plans to check it out.

The immersive experience will open its activation in Los Angeles at NYA Studios West from January 5 to 11, 2026, putting its intricate and stunning craft category hopefuls on display for awards season voters. The trade talked to del Toro about the news, and the filmmaker, who said the shift from London to Los Angeles has long been the plan, called the exhibit “revelatory.”

“Crafting a Tale Eternal” showcases a Bleak House-inspired experience filled to the brim with costuming, props, artwork, and the Tiffany & Co. jewelry featured in the film, as well as a curation of rare books curated by the firm Peter Harrington to honor author Mary Shelley’s legacy.

“With Frankenstein, we wanted to test the limits of every craft in movie-making—handmade sets, miniatures, wardrobe, and cinematography, just to name a few—and this exhibit is a celebration of those traditions,” del Toro said. “It is an honor to invite everyone to take a closer look at how our crafts team and I have meticulously and exhaustively labored to bring Mary Shelley’s world to life in what we hope is an eloquent, operatic way.”

Lucas Museum’s Mellody Hobson and George Lucas will be hosting and moderating a special screening with the filmmaking team when the Los Angeles exhibition opens. The trade reports there will be more programming to come and that select dates will offer free tickets.

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is now streaming on Netflix.
