Circular has officially announced the Circular Ring 2, its second generation smart ring that includes a new feature that will certainly pique the interest of those that want to keep a closer eye on their heart health.
Announced at CES 2025, the Ring 2 sees Circular move to a new sensor setup, which includes an ECG sensor that it says uses an algorithm that’s been FDA-cleared to detect atrial fibrillation. That means it has capabilities similar to the latest Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch to detect signs of heart conditions and will be the first smart ring to offer this functionality.
In addition to that atrial fibrillation-detecting feature Circular has redesigned its ring and has made it available in gold, silver, black and rose gold finishes.
It’s a smart ring made from titanium like most others, with Circular introducing a digital sizing kit letting you use your phone to ensure you get the perfect fit. How well that works remains to be seen, but in theory is does away with the need for plastic rings.
Circular is also moving to a wireless charging dock setup to power the Ring 2 with a promised battery life of up to 8 days. On paper, that’s better battery life than the first generation Circular Ring and puts it in line rings like the Samsung Galaxy Ring.

In terms of other promised improvements, Circular says it’s revamped its Kira AI assistant that’s designed to put your data into better context and offer useful suggestions and recommendations.
How it’s been revamped isn’t entirely clear beyond Circular claiming it now “mirrors the ring’s luxurious aesthetic”. It wasn’t the prettiest AI assistant to interact with, so this is welcome news.
The Circular Ring 2 will be available to slip onto your finger from February or March 2025, with a crowdfunding campaign for the new generation ring launching this month.
It’s going to be priced at $380, so very much in keeping with pricing of other smart rings including the Oura Ring 4 and Samsung Galaxy Ring.
