Tim Miller and Keanu Reeves’ new time-loop shark movie adds some extra stars. The Babadook‘s Jennifer Kent is heading to sci-fi. Plus, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane talks Fisk’s future. Spoilers, assemble!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

According to insider Jeff Sneider on the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast, Sadie Sink is indeed playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Avengers: Doomsday

James Marsden stated he “missed” Hugh Jackman’s presence on the set of Avengers: Doomsday in a recent interview with Comic Book.

I love Hugh Jackman, and I love the dynamic between Wolverine and Cyclops. It was always a brotherly, healthy competition between the two of them, where they were annoyed with each other. It did feel like a brotherly relationship. I wouldn’t say that I was excited to slide into that role without him barking in my ear. He was missed. I’m trying to… answer, without saying too much…yeah, that’s my answer.

Untitled Time Loop Shark Movie

THR reports Stefan Kapičić, Callie Cooke, Steven Waddington, Nicholas Duvernay, Abraham Popoola, Anastasia Safonov, and Bobby Holland Hanton will join Keanu Reeves in the cast of Tim Miller’s currently untitled time loop/killer shark movie (previously titled Shiver).

Untitled Jennifer Kent Sci-Fi Movie

Appearing as a guest on the Blank Check podcast, The Babadook director Jennifer Kent revealed she’s “working on a sci-fi film that looks to be shooting this year,” only stating the project is an “adaptation of something.”

Lights Out 2

THR reports Connor Osborn McIntyre has been hired by New Line to write a sequel to 2016’s Lights Out produced by the original’s David F. Sandberg, Eric Heisserer, and Lawrence Grey.

Happy Death Day 3

Speaking with Screen Rant, Jessica Rothe confirmed a third Happy Death Day movie is now “just a matter of when.”

The truth is, Chris Landon — our brilliant, fearless writer-director — he has the whole third one figured out. I think, at this point, it’s just logistics. All I’ll say to you and to all the fans is, whether it’s next year or when I’m 65, pulling a Jamie Lee Curtis coming back for Halloween, I will be there to finish Tree’s story. It’s just a matter of when they get all their ducks in a row.

Masters of the Universe

In conversation with USA Today, Alison Brie discussed her excitement playing the “larger than life” Evil-Lyn in Masters of the Universe.

I was really excited to get to play a supervillain. I watched a bunch of the old cartoon, and she really is like a classic femme fatale character, but with a sense of humor. Just unlike anything I’ve ever really done. A lot of the work that I’ve done, everything is about reality. In Masters [of the Universe], the whole point is that everybody is larger than life − some people physically, this character more just in her evilness. It was so fun to work on, and the cast is great.

Daredevil: Born Again

Finally, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane suggested to the New York Times that Wilson Fisk’s reign as Mayor of New York may “come to a place that’s inevitable” by the end of season, but will not be “the end of Fisk’s story in an way shape or form.”

Every time I say something, there’s repercussions. [Laughs.] So, Parts 1 and 2 of this current story, where Fisk becomes the mayor and Matt leads the resistance — that dynamic comes to a place that is inevitable. And no, it’s not the end of Fisk’s story in any way, shape, or form.

There are a few comic book runs that are part of the lore, and we take bits and pieces of those, mash them up and use them as inspiration. We’ve done that this season and last, and we’re doing it in Season 3. It’s all part of the larger story of Matt Murdock’s struggle with being someone who has such respect for the law and breaks it on a regular basis. You know, the story never ends with these two.
